The Butt-Pirates

I woke up @ 3:00 am on Wednesday morning, and had trouble falling back asleep. Exciting lead for a post, I know. But wait it gets better, or it won't, either way it will be over soon. I emailed my cousin earlier in the day. He is a life long Pirates fan, and I was thinking I should have included something in the email about the Pirates, more specifically how I wish they would just give up all ready, thereby helping out my Reds team. After 47 minutes of not falling asleep, I decided to watch some TV. Turned on ESPN news and within 5 minutes saw the story that Pittspuke traded there all-star center fielder Nate McLouth. My wish came true! Now, for the real meat of this post. How did the Bucos react? Slam doors? Cuss out the manager?
No and No. They light a candle, This from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Friday, June 05, 2009

In one corner of the Pirates' clubhouse at PNC Park, the small, circular metal table between the stalls of relievers Sean Burnett and Jesse Chavez had a candle lit atop it, adorned by the No. 13 of Nate McLouth and an accompanying photo of him in full uniform.
Strong, strong message sent right there.
I eventually returned to bed and fell blissfully asleep @ 5:45 knowing the Reds are now playing in a 4 team division only to be awoken by my alarm @ six.
