Super Mario

Mario Chalmers can handle, shoot, pass and defend is smart and physical. Just an awesome pick for the Heat in the second round. Should be in the rookie - sophomore game and receive consideration for the all nba rookie team. And to say he is the most important rookie to the Heat seems like a no brainer until you remember that the Heat drafted Michael Beasley with the second overall pick.

worst post ever

Saw a 2009 Nissan Maxima for the first time, in person, the otherday traveling down the interstate. I was impressed. The rear end is very well done. The look from the the front is appropriately menacing. Smooth between the A and C pillars. I did not feel the same way about the first 2009 Mazda 6 that I recently saw for the first time in person as well. Too much ass in the rear of the car. In the photos I saw it looked like a poor man's XF. That's not the impression I got as I watched it travel down I-75.

Brett Favre

Great. More, "Will Brett retire?" speculation. Good luck with that ESPN.

Stay classy Stu

It would be unfortunate if the three finalists for this years Hiesman show up to the New York Athletic Club, which boast's that over 200 members have won Olympic medals, as Stuart Scott just announced seeing as they will be handing out the trophy here.

My other car is a Ferrari

Only Ferrari gets away with naming a model Scuderia, pronounced like a combination of scoots and diarrhea. Can you imagine the critiscism as Bob Lutz introduces the Chevy Scuderia.

Tebow. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Tim Tebow has a dece chance to take something away from us Buckeye fans that we may have been taking for granted. For as long as I can remember there has only been one two time Heisman Award Winner and since he played @ Ohio State that makes it right and proper. Our (Buckeye Nation) best hope is that Colt Mccoy is rewarded for not only being the best player (by player, of course I mean Q-back or running back since they are the only players recognized by the Downtown Athletic Club) in college football this year but also gets sympathy votes for being royally hosed by the Big 12 conference.

Woody Johnson likes to yell

Caught the Bearcats game against UNLV sat night on XM 173 an the way home from visiting family. It turned out to be an exciting game and nice road win for the cats. Dan Hoard did the football game earlier in the day so I had the misfortune of listening to Woody Johnson do the play by play. I'm fairly certain his mornings start like this, ' He bends the knees, lifts the lid, takes aim, and DRAINS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.' The gym is half full and neither team is ranked in the top 25 but when Yancy Gates routinely tipped in a missed jumper, Woody called it as if the bearcats had just won their third NCAA championship and their first NBA title. This guy made Gus Johnson sound like a librarian with laryngitis.

Duke Vitale

Tuesday night, while UK was getting their collective teeth kicked in, Duke Vitale, screams out something like " and they're doing this without the best player in the country. " He was refering to Ty Hansbrough who without a doubt is NOT the best player in college b-ball and will be proved again this June. He's not even the best or the most valuable player on his own team. If Duke wants to hype him for the national player of the year, or the Naismith award, because he's senior, fine. I guess Duke is working with the idea, 'I won't let the facts ruin my story.'

Nice words about future Hall of Famer Greg Oden

Saturday, November 15, 2008

At first I thought, do I really need to comment on ESPN's Andre Ware ridiculous assertion that Utah and Tulsa and Bosie St. deserve consideration for a BCS bowl bid because of what Boise did in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl?  After some internal reflection  I decided that no, I did not. The world will somehow go on despite my fairly obvious observation. But then he had to repeat it,  in the fourth quarter.  His ignorance crossed the line @ that point. So here I am.
1. He is paid professional analyst from the worldwide leader in sports.
2. Due to the nature of the high turnover of college football players what a team did two bowl season's ago is hardly relevant today.  Louisville beat Wake Forest in the 2007 Orange Bowl does that mean anything for those two teams or the Big East or ACC for this bowl season? I say no.
3. He was asked this question in feature titled " Ware it out " with lame graphics and everything. So this was obviously discussed, with someone from production, prior to the game. This was not a question that posed out of thin air, spontaneously,  by his broadcast partner.  He had time to research his answer and came up with 2007 Fiesta Bowl.
4 Why someone in production didn't mention  the 2008 Sugar Bowl to Mr. Ware, where small conference Hawaii was ridden hard and put away wet by Georgia, I'll never know.

Great new song, decent video, from the best Plus Minus album to date.

Looks like Greg Oden is going to play tonight. Don't know about anybody else, but I'm excited.

God Dammit, I just had a nice entry about the NBA League Pass, that I somehow deleted. Maybe I'll get back to it some day.

Very refreshing to see the greatest 3, past or present, in the low post this season. I have been complaining to myself about this for the past 2 seasons. Good to see it has finally paid off.
